00:31:31 ada chen: My mom put it a different way, I used to get so mad and frustrated and she’d say: there are dumb people everywhere
00:31:54 Aleta Williams: Love Ada’s mom!!!
00:33:55 Lisa Kramer: Brene Brown has a podcast – Unlocking Us talking about FFT (effing first times) and the process and challenge of doing something new. It helped me a lot 🙂
00:34:38 Wendy Avenius: I started a priority planner recently – talks about your daily small wins, an empowering belief for the day, what I’m grateful for today…in addition to daily schedule.
00:35:35 Wendy Avenius: Oh, and journal daily!
00:35:50 Jennifer Janes: Absolutely! Brene has put out some good material during this time. She is my go to podcast when I go for a walk. I also spend some time each morning learning and reading about personal development. It’s about the schedule as you said.
00:39:56 Aleta Williams: Thank you Lisa. I will listen today.
00:40:08 ada chen: I’ve helped onboard people who started remotely — happy to chat best practices and expectations, Jennifer!
00:40:24 Lisa Kramer: You’re welcome! And you’re not alone.
00:41:35 Aleta Williams: I will look into a priority planner…thanks Wendy
00:50:52 Wendy Avenius: Maybe ask if there others that might have similar commutes you can talk with?
00:50:56 Aleta Williams: I had the same challenge in my current job. When I first started I stayed with my Mom during the week for a year. My boss started mentioning work from home. I started a few days a week based on what was best for me.
00:51:20 ada chen: Also – as someone who tried to get remote out of a job I was at for 3 years, I think you might be in a better position with them knowing your situation from the start
00:53:52 Lisa Kramer: Respect your problems and you’ll respect yourself – something I’ve been referencing a lot for myself right now
00:55:21 Aleta Williams: I like that…respect your problems and you’ll respect yourself
00:55:57 Wendy Avenius: I need to jump off, thanks all!
00:56:19 Aleta Williams: That’s good Jennifer.
00:56:44 Aleta Williams: My boss has been saying we will go back first of the year. Yesterday he said next Spring
01:02:01 Jennifer Janes: Thank you everyone. I appreciate your thoughts and help!
01:02:37 LUASKYA NONON: I have another meeting to run to! Bye…thank you!!
01:03:50 ada chen: Don’t worry about it – the number of times Belma has seen my cry is…a lot
01:04:06 Aleta Williams: Girl breathe
01:04:37 ada chen: In and out! You can do it 🙂
01:04:53 Jennifer Janes: Life is hard right now. We all understand.
01:11:45 Aleta Williams: You have to let go with somebody. That is on of the reasons why we are, I am here.
01:15:11 Jennifer Janes: I recently read the book Write It Down, Make it Happen. It was so helpful to find what I want for the future.
01:16:01 ada chen: About 90% of the time Belma has seen me cry, I have been in the office
01:16:23 ada chen: You’re not alone
01:17:07 ada chen: And then HR people wonder why people quit, too
