Emily Rose Prats: my high: i’m finally going to the treasures in the trash museum today!!!
Ada Chen: High: Being co-located with my bf all week (he had work meetings in SF M-W and we flew to Denver last night together)
Belma McCaffrey: One low – the weather. I’m having a really hard time being inside so much and don’t know how I will survive this winter!!! my high: coaching clients 🙂 Loving work this week so much!
Emily Rose Prats: low: haven’t heard back from my job interview last week ?
dixond: High: Excited about leaving for Colorado tomorrow! and Low: I have a cold 🙁
Ada Chen: Low: Being told a “remote” role (Belma – not the one we’ve been working on, the other one that I had to chat w/a recruiter about) would really prefer someone be in NY or be moving to NY *ugh* That isn’t remote!!
geenawakeley: Low – I haven’t gotten a chance to work out this week. High – Making it to the call today! It’s been a minute
Kait Buck: High: Have had an easy work week this week so far (knock on wood!)
Kait Buck: Low: The lack of sunshine also has me a little gloomy!
Kait Buck: Not yet
Emily Rose Prats: yes
Ada Chen: Not yet
dixond: yes
geenawakeley: yes
Emily Rose Prats: influential was my most dominant (surprisingly to me!)
Belma McCaffrey: Emily Rose that actually doesn’t surprise me!
Belma McCaffrey: I can see that with your style
Emily Rose Prats: haha—iiiiiinteresting
Belma McCaffrey: Hopefully it will make more sense when we talk through all the styles 🙂
dixond: Influential is most dominant but C & S are really even as my secondary
Belma McCaffrey: Very cool Deanna!
Dana.Wakeley: Steady is highest for me! And C is also up there for me too!
Belma McCaffrey: I’m also Influential and 2nd for me is Dominant
Belma McCaffrey: Geena what are you?
geenawakeley: S was most dominant for be closely followed by C
Belma McCaffrey: Awesome!
Kait Buck: I’m not understanding how to score
Kait Buck: haha
Ada Chen: D was most dominant by 9 points (lol), and then S and C were secondary (off by a point between each other)
Ada Chen: Soooooo not even surprised
Belma McCaffrey: That is a fascinating combo Ada!!!
Belma McCaffrey: Love it
Ada Chen: It totally gets me into awkward situations lol
Belma McCaffrey: I think being a high D is so fascinating
Kait Buck: High I high S
Kait Buck: done!
Ada Chen: If I had a dollar for every time this happened in a meeting at work though…
Ada Chen: 🙂
Emily Rose Prats: d was my number 2 and ALLLL of these drain me ?
Ada Chen: HAHA – I had my team vote on a private slack room name and all the options had “done” in it
Belma McCaffrey: LOL Ada! That’s amazing
Kait Buck: Oh this is me
Emily Rose Prats: i resonate w the values but not the drains?
Emily Rose Prats: s was my lowest, but i resonate a lot w this
Kait Buck: haha
Ada Chen: it looks like a board game lol
Ada Chen: ? here for it
Emily Rose Prats: i love this!!
Belma McCaffrey: The workplace would be very different if everyone had this
Ada Chen: ❤️ I love the idea of owning your style – I feel like I work with people on my team who just don’t get that people have different styles and keep trying to force me to do more of the others
Belma McCaffrey: Yes – this helps to cultivate more understanding and empathy
geenawakeley: totally agree Ada!
Emily Rose Prats: additional question (not sure we’ll get to it, but food for thought) — status comes into play here. it’s one thing to navigate communicating with your COworkers, but it’s different to navigate communicating with SUPERIORS. does anyone have positive experience getting a SUPERIOR to meet you halfway or be respectful of your needs, instead of your totally changing to meet theirs?
Emily Rose Prats: i love that, ada ❤️ i’m hoping to do this at my next job (setting expectations early, often)
Emily Rose Prats: awesome, thank you
Emily Rose Prats: makes sense. i think combining this w the triggers will be really helpful
Ada Chen: ^omg yes triggers
Emily Rose Prats: +1 to kait’s q ❤️ i push forward anyway, but usually cry b/c of the tension b/w my needs & their needs
Emily Rose Prats: i feel like listening to this song before our hard convos might help ? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mfwN0X8YnWo
Emily Rose Prats: or pulling a dwight schrute and playing it during the convo ?
Ada Chen: ugh, this is super enlightening for me as someone who indexes so much more on D — like it prompts me to think more about how people come to me ❤️? thank you for sharing kait and emily rose!
Emily Rose Prats: thank you!
Ada Chen: THANK YOU ?
Kait Buck: Yes, love these slides! Thank you!
